Due to popular demand we held an additional C&T day this year.

Fourteen people came along to experience the fun of windsurfing and, despite the very light wind, they all enjoyed themselves.

Many thanks to all those members who helped to make this possible.

Members, past members, family, and friends came along to our summer BBQ at the Pleasure Boat Inn. The weather was on our side to make this another great social event enjoyed by all.

Following a summary of the year so far by the Chairman, the excellent food was served, all washed down with a glass of one’s favourite drink. The winner of the Guess the Year competition was awarded their prize, and some ‘excellent’ prizes were also won in the raffle. Many thanks to all who attended, and also to the staff of the Pleasure Boat for looking after us so well.  See you at the next one.

The East Anglian Tennis and Squash Club hosted the 2014 AGM.

We have a had another very successful year at the Club: Come and Try day, 2 training days, 30th year celebration, new carpark surface, and new changing room flooring. The Club facebook is building momentum too. Although we had a very expensive year it was decided to freeze fees for 2015. The committee says good bye to Pat, Tony, Dave, and Philip – who collectively have over 80 years committee experience! Yes, that is amazing. Martin takes on the role of Chairman, and Jeff as News Editor. Phil and Glen have joined the committee too.

Thanks to Big G, Philip, Robbie, and Tone for joining me [Richard] in providing the coaching today. And thanks to all the members who turned up to participate and made it a worthwhile event. The wind was challenging at times (I was busy in the boat retrieving stray sailors from downwind, and a squall de-masted a couple of dinghies), but most people seemed to get a lot out of the session, so well done.

Over 70 had pleasure at the Pleasure Boat Inn enjoying the stories, food, drink and laughter. The garden setting was perfect,  just across the dyke from where is all started 30 years ago. Tony and Pat were presented with a scene from the beach from a windy sunny day in February 2014. Alan won the raffle – a calm view of the beach.  Go to our facebook page for more pictures.

24 August update: The pub will be pretty full, with over 70 members and partners coming, and it’s going to be quite a do. Regrettably we do not have the capacity to accommodate any more.

The Pleasure Boat have kindly upgraded the meal from a BBQ to a Hog Roast too!

Windier, sunnier, and warmer than forecast. It was a pleasure to spend the day with other instructors and our lovely guests to advance their windsurfing skills.

Very satisfying to see the pupils pushing their selves and moving their ability up a level or two.

We have received some very sad news; Paul passed away yesterday, 22 February. Please click this link for a post from Neil Greentree at Quayside. I understand Paul was a regular at Wells and Hunstanton, and if you have sailed there then the chances are you will have met Paul and Michelle.
